This is my second demo with the Bitsy Engine. I chose this engine because it was kept very simple and therefore my scope is limited. So I have to work harder creatively and at the same time I am not overwhelmed by all the possibilities.

The game concept is quite simple. You can choose who your best friend is. These are well-known cats and dogs from the computer game history. Do you recognize them all? I also included a little insider, which I personally find quite funny. What could I mean by that? This game made me think of the first games on the C64 or Atari. You need a lot of imagination to recognize the characters.

I also experimented with the endings this time. A game doesn’t always have to have a single ending, but can give the computer player several possibilities. But it is important that these endings are somehow in the context of the game. No one likes endings that don’t explain anything or leave the interpretation unclear, unless the game specifically aims to do so. My endings are symmetrically arranged in the corners. You can see them too, but not as well as I imagined.

There is no story. I had an idea, but somehow I didn’t like it. I’m really undecided to focus on a story right away, because even with a small computer game it can grow exponentially very fast and I don’t want to overextend myself right away. So for now I will focus on the technology and game design.
